SPLASH is a holiday play scheme for young people (5-19 years), operating for 3 days a week, 10 weeks a year. The young people attending the scheme take part in many fun and stimulating activities (arts and craft, themed days, cooking and sports), plus two trip days organised each week. If you are interested in gaining experience working with children and young people and/or looking to go into play or childcare then this is a great chance to learn new skills in a supportive environment: Regular training and continuing professional development opportunities are offered to all staff and volunteers working with SPLASH.

Starting wage: £7.50 per hour, £8.25 per hour after 6 month probation, and £9 per hour after annual appraisal.For an informal discussion about any of the roles, Regular training and continuous professional development opportunities are offered to all staff and volunteers working with SPLASH. Child with maskThere are lots ways to get involved: 

  • Holiday Playscheme delivery: designing/delivering activities (maybe you're a great gardener, cook, rambler etc. - what ever your passion - there's room at SPLASH to share)
  • Community events (Baking, manning stalls, running activities, bringing in jumble)
  • Training and mentoring: maybe your expert in something that could really benefit the children and young people at SPLASH (Arts and Crafts, Drama or Sports) or maybe you have the skills needed to support young people gain new skills e.g their Arts Award.
  • The SPLASH Committee: A group of parents/carers who guide; support and sustain SPLASH for the benefit of children with additional needs all over Teignbridge.
